Discussion: Minutes were reviewed and minor corrections were made to minutes. 

Conclusions: Minutes approved

 

Topic: Local Conference

Discussion:  Cost of conference room was $258.69 for the day and includes the cost of a janitor (state reg).  Discussion about details of the conference. 

Conclusions: 

HABA Conference Scheduled for August 4, 2007. 

The theme is REINFORCEMENT. 

Time: 8 am to 4:30 pm

The Format for the conference is as follows:

8 am to 9 am – Registration

9 am to 9:05 - Welcome

9:05 am to 10:05 am - 1st session – Primer on Reinforcement (Foundations and Principles) – Christine Walton, Ph.D.

10:15 am to 11:45 am - 2nd session –Application of Reinforcement – Service providers and services animals – Tiffany Hamaguchi, OTD

11:45 am to 1:15 pm - Lunch – ON your OWN

1:15 pm to 2:15 pm - 3rd session – Application of Reinforcement – Kim Meyer, Ph.D.

2:30 pm to 4:00 pm - 4th session – Theoretical overview and panel discussion

 

Cost - $50.00 at the door

$40.00 – early registration

$30.00 – HABA member

$10.00 – HABA membership fee

Kim Meyer, Ph.D. is the Director of Rehabilitation at the Hawai’i State Hospital. His interests include the functional analysis of behavior, constructional approaches to treatment, and the generality of behavior analytic principles and methodologies across populations and systems.

 

Christine Walton, Ph.D., BCBA, is the Behavior Consult Team Coordinator for people with co-occurring Mental Illness and Developmental Disabilities at the Hawai’i State Hospital.

 

Tiffany-Joy Hamaguchi, OTD/R, is part of the Occupational Therapy team at Hawai’i State Hospital and has introduced the animal assisted therapy program there.  She is also a faculty with the Assistance Dog Institute.
