ABA University Programs

The information on this page is intended to serve as a public place for ABA programs specific to Hawai'i residents (designed for Hawai'i residents and/or taught by professors living and practicing in Hawai'i). Being included on this page should not be viewed as an endorsement from the Hawaii Association for Behavior Analysis (HABA). For a list of all program options: go to the BACB University Program page. All programs listed on this page are BACB approved.

$1150 per 3CREDIT

Online courses with live class meetings will enable students to interact with professors and students who live and practice on the islands.  

  • Masters Level BCBA Certification Coursework (18 cr/6 classes)
  • Masters Degree that includes all BCBA coursework (36 cr/12 classes)
  • Bachelors Level BCaBA Certification Coursework (12 cr/4 classes)
  • Does not yet include mentoring hours

Combination of pre-recorded, online courses, and live experience at ABA Clinic on Oahu enables students to meet supervision hours, in addition to coursework towards their BCBA:

  • Master of Arts in Professional Behavior Analysis 
  • Combines 24–27 semester credit hours of pre-recorded coursework
  • Includes 21 mentoring hours (provided at ABC Group, Aiea)
  • 45 credits total (Hybrid Program)

The Department of Special Education offers:

  • BCaBA-Track Coursework (12 credits/4 classes) - Certification requires bachelors
  • BCBA-Track Coursework (18 credits/6 classes) - Certification requires masters
  • Masters (MEd) in Special Education plus BCBA-Track Coursework (30 credits/10 classes) 
    • MEd program does not lead to a teaching license
  • Optional University Practicum available for Supervision
  • Merit-based scholarships/awards are available for degree candidates
  • Courses are offered online and include synchronous online class sessions in the evenings
